About Our Client

Our client a highly successful international business based in Woking, Surrey are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant due to rapid international growth following two acquisitions.

Job Description


  • To support the Group Financial Reporting Manager in producing the monthly consolidated balance sheet, cash flow and below-EBITDA P&L reports
  • To produce financial statements using CaseWare and provide information to the group auditors
  • To maintain ledgers for holding companies and similar, as well as updating calculations and ledger postings for central items such as debt financing and capex
  • To provide ad hoc support to the group reporting and FP&A teams


Management reporting

  • Support the group financial reporting manager in producing the monthly consolidation
  • Assist in the production of monthly reports for management in respect of the balance sheet, cash and treasury management and below-EBITDA P&L
  • Research responses to ad hoc queries from management and the group team in respect of the reporting pack
  • Assist in production of forecasts

External Group financial reporting

  • Draft the statutory financial statements of the group's subsidiaries under FRS 101 (first year transition) using CaseWare
  • Provide information and explanations to the group's auditors and other external stakeholders
  • Produce governmental and HMRC statistical reporting
  • Gather and analyse information for inclusion in the group's internal and external reporting

Ledger maintenance

  • Make Navision postings in relation to group matters such as recharges and finance costs
  • Maintain chart of accounts across group, setting up new ledger codes across Navision and Cognos and facilitate in review and rationalisation
  • Perform intercompany and other group reconciliations
  • Maintain standing data and similar information on Navision and Cognos
  • Assist subsidiary finance teams in Navision and Cognos ledger maintenance

Financial systems, processes and controls

  • For areas for which accountable, ensure that financial controls and processes are developed, documented and maintained
  • Identify financial control and process improvements, and implement changes to strengthen the control environment and increase the efficiency of the team

  • Help embed relevant part of the new consolidation system (Cognos Controller) and ensure that appropriate controls are in place over its operation
  • Embrace change agenda - be an enthusiastic advocate of change

The Successful Applicant

  • Part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT Professional Diploma)
  • Experience of working in a finance function, ideally having had some involvement in production of financial statements
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable working style, keen to identify opportunities for improvements and personal growth
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
  • Experience of working with or for Private Equity portfolio companies
  • Experience of working with Navision and Cognos or similar systems
  • Well organised with attention to detail; process driven and delivery focussed
  • Straightforward, open personality and an enthusiastic, positive attitude

What's on Offer

Salary £25,000 - £35,000, the top end of the salary is very much dependant on candidates level of experience. Our client will consider both more junior candidates and also more experienced candidates hence the broad salary range.
