About Our Client

Our client a Market Leading Technology Business based in Farnborough, Hampshire are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join the team due to continued company growth.

Job Description

The accountant will be responsible for month/quarter end accounts preparation, statutory reporting/tax/VAT requirements. Specifically this will include:

  • Preparation of manual journal entries and supporting documentation
  • Preparation of monthly / quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of intercompany balance reconciliations.
  • Preparation of intercompany invoices.
  • Preparation of monthly operating / quarterly expenditure variance reporting.
  • Preparation of quarterly corporate reporting to US parent company.
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers.
  • Review general ledger and liaise with and support the accounts processing team to ensure proper coding of invoices
  • Preparation for statutory/internal/SOX compliance audits
  • Assist with preparation and timely filing of corporation tax, VAT and other statutory filing requirements.
  • Be a point of contact for non-finance staff to provide guidance and ensure compliance with the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Prepare other ad hoc reports and provide support when required on corporate finance based initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

  • The successful candidate will have strong numeric skills, keen attention to detail, and be a highly organised individual. The role would suite either someone working in industry who is looking to increase their responsibilities and build on their existing financial reporting experience, or someone trained in practice looking for their first move into industry.
  • The candidate must be ACA/CIMA/ACCA Part Qualified or ideally a Finalist and ideally hold a university degree.
  • Experience using Oracle or similar ERP system

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills.
