Job Description

  • Preparing monthly management accounts in accordance with agreed policies and procedures including commentary and analysis against budget.
  • Preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Assisting the Financial Reporting team to prepare the statutory accounts for all entities including liaison with auditors and associated statutory year end work.
  • Producing periodic cash flow analysis including anticipation of future funding requirements.
  • Maintaining banking relationships and cash management requirements for business entities as required.
  • Preparing VAT returns.
  • Managing supplier invoice and payment process ensuring transactions are properly authorised and accurately coded.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and the investment portfolio, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected and reported.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the financial numbers including preparing control account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
  • Ensuring completeness and accuracy of recharges for aircraft use to third parties.
  • Overview and analysis of asset operations.
  • Supporting other ad hoc projects and analysis as directed by the Financial Controller.
  • Providing financial support to the Director of Operations and Aviation
  • Any other ad hoc duties.

The Successful Applicant

  • Actively studying ACCA / CIMA or qualified AAT who is studying for a further relevant qualification.
  • Previous experience in a role as an accountant or assistant accountant, or similar position (involving some of the key tasks listed above).
  • Experience of accounting in foreign currencies would be an advantage.
  • Commitment to meeting demanding reporting deadlines
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Computer literate, with good skills in Microsoft Office especially Excel. Experience of Sage or Epicor desirable.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from a range of backgrounds.
  • Willing to take responsibility and ownership for tasks.
  • Strong sense of discretion, appreciating the confidentiality of the work.
  • Keen to suggest improvements to current ways of working.
