About Our Client

Our client a Multi-Billion Turnover, Global Market Leader, based in Farnborough, Hampshire are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join the team.

Job Description

As a Finance Analyst based from the Farnborough, Hampshire office you will be responsible for:

Role Overview

To provide the business with high quality analytics and management information with a focus on regional analytics within the European legal entities.

  • To produce monthly financial statements with relevant variance and ratio analysis.
  • To provide regional membership analytics to the business along with supporting commentary on business performance with relation to prior years, plan and forecasts.
  • To provide the actuarial function with claims and premium analytics to support the monthly reserving process. Provide feedback on any areas which may affect the reserve position; high cost claims activity, invoice volumes and backlogs, operational capacity influences
  • To produce a breakdown of the consolidated monthly results by sales office, and as relevant, to report to the board/ senior leadership team on regional contribution.
  • To provide monthly sales analytics to support the Europe Sales, Account Management and Marketing teams in understanding the current portfolio and identifying areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Work with the Europe sales and underwriting teams to support the quarterly forecasting and annual planning process.
  • Attendance at meetings to comment on business performance, highlighting areas of opportunity/concern and producing analysis to support proposals.
  • To contribute towards the data collation and completion of the current regulatory requirements (Quarterly and annual PRA and MAS returns)
  • To contribute towards the planning of the new regulatory reporting requirements under Solvency II and to assist with the completion of the regulatory requirements as they come into effect.
  • To provide financial statements and reconciled management information to support the annual audit and any internal audits as required.
  • To provide support to the business when ad hoc management information is required with a focus on sales and underwriting performance.
  • Contribute to the delivery of any additional strategic and tactical projects undertaken by the team.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties or new tasks within the department as described by management
  • Working closely and providing support to the assistant finance analysts, offering opportunity to develop team leadership skills

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 2-3 years strong finance experience
  • ACCA/CIMA studier's ideally, not essential
  • Graduate preferably, but non Graduates also considered (preferably in a math's/finance discipline)Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure with a strong attention to detail
  • Financial & analytical skills which have developed through on the job experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, confident dealing with people across different functions and being able relay financial information to non-financial colleague
  • Good use of initiative to drive analysis and information
  • Collaborative team player

What's on Offer

Salary £30,000-£36,000, potential flexibility depending on experience
