The client is a large NHS trust located in South London the team comprise of electrical craftsperson NHS, electrical engineers, gas engineers, mechanical engineers and multiskilled trades persons.

Job Description

The eletrical craftsperson NHS would be expected to:

To diagnose and repair faults in building services engineering and electrical installations, plant and equipment, to deal with new situations as they arise and to pass on knowledge to others;

- To understand the working of building services engineering installations in Healthcare buildings;

- To instruct others on the above features and other aspects of their work;

- To perform a wide range of work of other building services engineering services crafts. I.e. carry out minor works of other non-core trades such as mechanical, electrical, building trades etc.

- Manufacture, assemble, erect, install and test new work;

- Carry out repairs, maintain and efficiently run plant and equipment;

- Use all relevant tools, equipment and test instruments to meet the requirements of Standard Codes of Practice;

- To understand and apply the principles of „Root Cause Analysis‟ when attending to maintenance and repair tasks with the aim of implementing a Reliability Centred Maintenance strategy at St. George‟s;

- Experience in fault finding and maintenance of a wide range of building electrical services installations, i.e. mechanical, plumbing, electrical and building fabric etc

To carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance works (PPM), on mechanical, plumbing, electrical and building fabric as directed by the shift technician / supervisor. This includes all statutory, mandatory and maintenance of business critical assets to ensure continuity of service;

The Successful Applicant

Recognised and registered EITB, City Guilds, National ONC or OND, modern apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or approved equivalent training.

And a minimum of 2 years relevant experience having demonstrated high commitment to versatility and flexibility

Or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role in a commercial or industrial building services engineering environment with total commitment to versatility and flexibility
