A leading Bio pharmaceutical Company in Berkshire looking for a Data Protection Paralegal

Job Description

The responsibilities for the Data Protection Paralegal will include some or all of the following:
* Perform review of agreements and draft revisions concerning data protection/privacy in various contracts
* Prepare initial drafts of data processing and data transfer contracts, revise these contracts and prepare execution copies; track contracts in database; establish and maintain contract files; prepare and send client correspondence, as appropriate.
* Monitor and manage company registrations/notifications to country Data Protection agencies and liaise as appropriate with such agencies.
* Undertake projects, research data and make special studies, requiring independent decisions and conclusions, and respond to internal and external requests, forwarding issues to appropriate individuals, as needed.
* Develop or assist in the development and design of department procedures, information tracking/retrieval systems across all assigned projects and maintain archives, files and records so as to promote or improve the timely completion of work product deliverables and efficient work flow.
* Perform legal research, compile data, compose both routine and non-routine correspondence, reports and presentations for review and final revision by manager.
* Provide support to internal clients in communicating with customers; as appropriate, serve as Subject Matter Expert and contact for specific customers as needed.
* Participate in meetings to discuss assigned project issues and disseminate information from meetings as appropriate.
* Support departmental activities directed toward meeting planned and projected Corporate goals including sales/revenue/customer satisfaction goals.
* Attend and participate in team meetings and/or departmental meetings.
* Support manager by filtering telephone calls, compile meeting agendas, take and distribute minutes and follow up on action points escalating issues where appropriate.
* When manager is unavailable, use imitative to review and prioritize activities, taking action or escalating critical matters as appropriate.
* Perform other duties as assigned or required.

The Successful Applicant

* Strong skills using MS Office Suite: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Excellent proofreading, editing and oral and written communication skills
* Ability to review, comprehend and explain contract terms to customers
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
* Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision and in a busy environment
* Ability to receive and act on delegated instructions
* Willingness to train and develop subject matter expertise in data protection/data privacy field of law

What's on Offer

Data protection paralegal:
* College degree and paralegal certificate from an accredited school with 2 years paralegal experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
* Language - French/ German is advantageous
