Job Description

Data Protection Analyst:

  • To create and maintain IO data protection policy and procedures and to disseminate changes to the business,
  • Draft data protection training and awareness content and delivery,
  • Develop targeted data protection training for the Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and high risk global functions such as IT, Risk, HR and Procurement,
  • Compile information about data protection laws, rules and regulations for all jurisdictions to ensure there are no gaps,
  • Monitor and report to Data Protection / Privacy Director (DPD) on performance of data protection activities in the various geographic areas and the IO businesses,
  • Ensure that the regulatory change management procedures are developed and followed when there are changes to data protection laws,
  • Assist and provide guidance to the DPOs on data protection related matters,
  • Ensure that data protection compliance standards are implemented within each of the IO businesses,
  • To understand where and how IO processes personal data, including its accounting of the processes, systems, databases and third parties involved with processing personal data,
  • Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) on all new or changes to existing systems and processes involving personal data and provide advice on the necessary actions that need to be taken to ensure compliance with data protection law,
  • Draft data processing agreements / Model Contract Clauses (MCCs),
  • Maintain a record of all data processing agreements / MCCs,
  • Complete the data protection risk assessment process across IO as and when required,
  • Review and, as necessary, update customer data protection notices
  • Monitor adherence to customer preferences and consent forms
  • Assist in developing the incident management processes and triggers for escalation,
  • Liaise between the DPD and DPOs regarding privacy breaches relative to scope, status, notification and remediation requirements,
  • Centrally track and analyse (e.g., trending, etc.) privacy breaches and personal data exposures,
  • Ensure that the notification with the local data protection authority is accurate and up to date. This must be reviewed annually at a minimum,
  • Collate information on complaints from data subjects or data protection authorities,

The Successful Applicant

Data Protection Analyst:

  • Degree in Law or Economics.
  • Knowledge of UK and European laws and regulations

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and balance multiple duties.
  • Possess independent analytical skills.
  • Ability to evaluate risk
  • Experience in data protection, compliance or legal
