Our client is a leading supplier of health care professionals for the NHS and other public and private health care orgasniations.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of 8
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to enhance the Credit Control Function
  • To lead, manage and motivate the staff within the Credit Control team, setting clear and measurable objectives for the staff, including identifying training needs
  • Undertake weekly ADR reviews with each team member and agree future action required
  • Achieve monthly Cash Collection targets and forecasts
  • Setting out KPI targets
  • Carry out credit checks on new clients and recommend credit limits and Terms of Business to minimise risk and exposure
  • Chasing from the NHS and other large private health care organisations
  • Oversee implementation of new client set up on the accounting system
  • Oversee the daily banking, cash allocation and bank reconciliations
  • Oversee the direct debit process
  • Manage the credit card receipts reconciliation and allocation, and ensure any charge backs are dealt with promptly as well as undertake processing of declined credit card transactions
  • Ensure all bookings on desk accounts and all 'non-ref' bookings are charged out in a timely manner
  • Monitor time period between payment dates to ensure payment time cycles are not increasing
  • Liaise regularly with Sales / Account Management regarding overdue accounts and escalate where necessary
  • Attend periodic client meetings where required
  • Responsible for preparing various month end performance reports, including DSO, debt including commentary
  • Review and prepare the incentive scheme, determine targets and monitor progress.
  • Resolve ad hoc queries in a timely manner

The Successful Applicant

Skills / Attributes Required:

  • MUST have exposure of working in a recruitment industry
  • Ideally have exposure of chasing from the NHS
  • Proven ability of managing employees within a Credit Control team. Confident team leader, with a strong presence and a natural ability to motivate.
  • An evidenced track record of the ability to gain specific results through people - a good coach to your team and to your colleagues, you will identify potential for career progression and ensure talent is recognised.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand and engage with internal and external customers.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure whilst working to and meeting required deadlines.
  • Clear and concise communication - verbal & written
  • Good listening skills
  • Friendly but firm telephone manner
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Methodical approach
  • Knowledge of Sage200 and MERIT
  • Exposure of working in multi currencies
