Job Description

Key Areas:

  • To minimise debtors days within the Group
  • To maintain an accurate and meaningful sales ledger at all times
  • To pre-empt, monitor and tackle overdue accounts
  • To ensure all customer receipts are appropriately allocated on the sales ledger
  • To provide the senior management team with timely and useful information

The Role:

  • Approval of new customers
  • Ensuring timely receipt from customers
  • Daily posting of cash receipts onto Navision and banking of any cash or cheques received
  • Accurate and timely allocation of receipts on the sales ledger
  • Developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships
  • Issuing monthly customer statements with appropriate follow-up
  • Issuing weekly debtors reports to the sales teams and leading a fortnightly debtors review with sales managers

The Successful Applicant

  • Forecasting cash receipts for cash flow purposes
  • Contribution towards the development of debtors reporting within Navision
  • Preparation of debtors reports for the monthly Board meetings
  • Liaising with the treasury team to maximise the collection of foreign currency debt
  • To represent the Finance Controller when they are away from the office and communicate on matters concerning Credit Control
  • Communicate regularly with other Managers to ensure that issues in the Finance Team are brought to the attention of others and receive feedback from the other areas
  • To make improvements in the working of the Finance team to increase efficiency and overall promote a proactive Finance Team
  • To support the implementation of systems
  • To ensure holiday cover planned so that all roles are covered and there is no period of understaffing
  • Ad hoc reporting as required
