About Our Client

My client is based near Redhill and is looking for a credit controller to join their team on a temporary basis for 6 months.

Job Description

Main tasks and responsibilities:

    • To Contribute to the delivery of the vision and business plan
    • To Ensure the department operating objectives and standards of performance are followed by employees
    • To Assist the Credit Controller Manager and Supervisor in achieving Department Targets and objectives
    • To Chase outstanding debt for allocated customers in accordance with targets for allocated customers to maximise cash flow.
    • Responsible for Credit control matters relating to allocated customers for all aspects of credit and debit note control investigating to conclusion, customer deductions and posting cash.
    • To Log, process and report on debit notes in conjunction with departmental processes and systems.
    • To Carry out Analysis of debit note claims and determination of validity.
    • To Notify customers of invalid claims and chasing of repayment via telephone and email, issuing debit note rejection correspondence.
    • To Process credit notes for returns, valid claims and identification of stock impacts of these credit notes.
    • To Update debit note reports daily and attend scheduled meetings to update more senior staff on developments.
    • To Assist in the calculation and processing of debit notes to accruals for retrospective discounts, override and promotional discounts
    • To Carry out Analysis of debit note claims and determine validity
    • To Process credit notes for returns and valid claims. Identification of stock impact of these credit notes.
    • To Present at Weekly meetings with Credit Control Supervisor to update on current issues.
    • To Carry out diligently Month end duties
    • To Work in partnership with the other teams to ensure the overall delivery of objectives
    • Responsible for effective and efficient operational performance of area of responsibility's activities

The Successful Applicant

Experience/Knowledge and skills:

  • Experience working in credit control, ideally in a retail environment
  • Commercial, with evidence of the ability to deliver required support.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate data against key indicators, to monitor programmes, projects and plans to achieve targets.
  • Proficiency using key software (Word, Excel - pivots and vlookups, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet financial targets
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people at different levels
  • French ( desirable)
