This is a sales analysis focused role and they are looking for commercial and personable individuals rather than technical IT analysts

Job Description

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­OVERALL PURPOSE:

The Commercial Sales Analyst role encompasses sales and commercial analysis including revenue performance and forecasting; market share and trends; client and category analysis; competitive research; pricing; management reporting and in depth market analysis including territory analysis and sales resource mapping.


  • Provide analytical support of sales and direction to Sales Manager.
  • Analysing local customers' spend patterns, influencing activity and the ability to identify key local market opportunities and gap markets.
  • Analysing sales performance at a region, territory & individual sales person level.
  • Creating sales leads from new, repeat and lapsed customers and work lists of businesses with a propensity to buy advertising in our publications, print and digital.
  • Assist the Management team in setting targets for customer spend and measuring delivery against those targets. Assisting Management in setting stretch targets and bonus targets and other KPI's and providing a day to day management against these measures.
  • Identifying efficiencies to improve the sales processes.
  • Assist the Management team in managing rate card adherence and pricing discipline throughout the marketplace.
  • Contributing to pricing and packaging opportunities.
  • Communication - presenting, listening, questioning and explaining with key stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant


The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Ideally a graduate with a relevant degree for the role and 12-18 months analytical experience as a minimum
  • Self-motivated, assertive, with a can do attitude and a focus on delivering high quality work.
  • A proven track record in working within an Commercial Sales Analyst setting.
  • A natural ability to communicate & collaboratively work with sales teams; influencing sales behaviour.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to understand sales needs and see things from the sales person's perspective.
  • An ability to work under pressure, to strict deadlines and to think on their feet.
  • Well presented, professional and with high standards in all business areas.
  • Flexibility to travel around territory to meet business needs.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
