My client based in North Birmingham are looking for a Collections Manager with a proven track record to join their business.

Job Description

  • Leads by example, has a 'hands on' approach in relation to day to day management of section, Is credible, visible & approachable, motivates, and inspires colleagues.
  • Proactive in use of performance management techniques. Establishes and implements ongoing performance development for all credit management team members
  • Actively develop team managers through coaching and performance management. Ensures that they are also developing and motivating their teams.
  • Ensures high level of attendance and retention of staff through effective management, motivation and incentive schemes.
  • Delivers monthly team meetings and PDRs with team managers.
  • Promotes effective team working to deliver exceptional service quality both within the team and across the Operations as a whole.
  • Ensure budget management and utilisation to deliver targeted requirements.
  • Deliver team effectiveness and a 'feeling' of a strong unit both within the team and external to it.
  • Ensure awareness and coordination of forthcoming events providing notice to staff and effective communication.
  • Develop new credit and collection processes to improve effectiveness. Map and maintain existing and new credit management processes
  • Ensure technologies, such as power dialler, credit referencing, telephony, rapid and target are in place to achieve service levels.
  • Establish mechanism to keep up to date with technology advancement, developments relating to credit management. Make recommendations regarding use.

  • Ideally a Graduate/professional qualification or equivalent
  • Diploma or above in in Management / Leadership would be desirable
  • Coaching would be beneficial

  • Financial understanding and awareness
  • Data literate. Able to analyse and accurately interpret data to enable robust decision making
  • Ability to develop and introduce new methods of working
  • IT literate - Microsoft office

  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
