We have a long heritage of caring for families and individuals in the community and employ over 1600 people who deliver over 65 services, from health visiting for families, to community nursing and home-based rehabilitation services for people within the Surrey area.

Job Description

  • To undertake the day to day management of Domestic Supervisors and porters including undertaking performance reviews and development.
  • Manage the provision of Ancillary Support as required across sites where cleaning services are provided
  • To lead in the recruitment and selection of ancillary staff
  • To undertake coaching, training and induction of staff and to identify training and development needs.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the implementation of NHS's infection control standards within Ancillary Services.
  • To keep up to date with infection control, cleaning standards,COSSH information and ensure Domestic Supervisors are trained as required.
    • Contributing to the preparation of business cases to manage the introduction of new cleaning schedules, when additional premises providing clinical and non clinical services are acquired.
    • To be responsible for ensuring quality monitoring and audits of cleaning standards are carried out by The Domestic Supervisors, on a regular basis at premises where NHS provide Ancillary Services and ensuring all related action plans are implemented.
    • To be able to use computer packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
    • Undertake relevant training to the post to ensure adherence to NHS policies and procedures for example, Health and Safety, Personal Safety, Fire Safety, Management of Sickness Absence
    • To work as part of a team and to provide cover across other NHS sites as required
  • Other duties as required from time to time by the Operations Manager, Ancillary and Estates and are appropriate to the grade of Domestic Services Manager.

The Successful Applicant

  • Must be an experienced domestic manager
  • Knowledge of NHS domestic legislation
  • BICs membership
  • Hard working, self motivated, methodical & flexible.
  • Computer literate with a good level of literacy and educational attainment or proven experience in a similar managerial role within the NHS cleaning or similar industry,
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Fire safety
  • DBS
  • Understanding Data Protection as well as confidentiality procedures

  • Complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
