Job Description

  • Researching suppliers to determine the best value in terms of quality, cost & delivery
  • Negotiating and agreeing contracts
  • Ensuring contract terms and are adhered too
  • Liaising with all departments to understand future purchasing requirements and source product and materials for new and existing projects
  • Developing the organisations purchasing strategy
  • Forecasting spend in area's such as consignment stock and work ware
  • Ensuring all purchase orders are maintained and filed correctly

The Successful Applicant

  • Previous experience as a Buyer
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A good telephone manner;
  • The ability to build a rapport and trust with external suppliers
  • The capability to multi-task and communicate effectively
  • Comprehensive use of Microsoft Excel
  • CIPS qualified is highly desirable
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Capacity to deal with challenging situations and individuals
  • Self-motivated
