About Our Client

My client is an international Manufacturing company.

Job Description

  1. As part of the audit team, audit assignment responsibilities include:

- Conducting meetings and interviews with all levels of management and personnel.

- Performance of thorough studies of business processes for areas under audit.

- Developing specific audit procedures to accomplish the objectives of the audit to determine whether assets are adequately safeguarded and whether policies, plans, and procedures are complied with and whether management reports are accurate.

- Performance of specific audit tests and thoroughly documenting work performed in the audit workpapers.

- Drawing conclusions based on the results of tests performed.

- Arriving at feasible cost effective solutions to problems encountered and making specific recommendations.

- Organizing the audit workpapers in a manner conducive to developing a report on audit results, findings, and recommendations.

- Holding preliminary discussions of the audit findings and results with operating personnel to verify facts and to ensure that everyone has a thorough understanding of the nature, source and extent of the issue. Also, input and action plans of operating personnel are obtained.

- Preparing reports detailing the audit results, findings, and recommendations.

- Communicating effectively with the other audit team member(s) on progress/significant developments and respond to review notes developed by the Team Leader and the Director - Internal Audit.

  1. Remaining alert for detection, investigation, and prevention of fraud.

  1. Evaluating opportunities for improvement in operational efficiency cost effectiveness and internal controls.

  1. Determining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  1. Assisting the external auditors as requested.

  1. Performing research to gain competence in areas which are to be audited by you.

  1. Staying current on business trends and practices by reading business periodicals, becoming involved in professional associations and through continuing education.

The Successful Applicant

  1. University degree
  2. Previous accounting or auditing experience
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills and very good interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work well with others in the department and with audit customers.
  5. Good IT and data analysis skills are desirable.
  6. Pro-active and self motivated.
  7. High level of accuracy is essential.
  8. Receptive to change and flexible in approach.
  9. Based in Gloucester but will be required to undertake regular travel in Europe and the US (estimated 20% travel)
  10. Requirement to study for professional qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, IIA) - fully supported.
