Job Description

The Assistant Management Accountant role involves;

Working in a multifunctional team environment, you provide financial expertise in your area of the business to enable growth in a profitable and sustainable manner.

You direct or provide guidance to commercial and sales teams to meet their budget targets. You maintain timely and accurate financial reporting and ensure adequacy of internal controls as business steward in your area of responsibility.

  • Prepare annual budget and monthly & quarterly revenue forecast, including trade terms, contractual obligations, pricing and promotional activity
  • Maintain strong accounting controls for Sales Deductions; help to define accounting policies and procedures for integration of current business practices in the new organization and enforce proper accounting methods
  • Own, prepare and update monthly management reporting for financial forecast and actuals
  • Own customer trade terms changes in line with and outside of standard guidelines to ensure sales deductions budgets are spent in the most productive way and provide reasoned recommendations on customer financing contracts
  • Ensure budgets and forecasts reflect committed cost reductions/savings/investment profiles; enable budget owners to control spending via deep penetration and proofing of actual spending
  • Own Balance Sheet Reconciliations for Sales Deductions line items to ensure external reporting accuracy
  • Maintain fiscal files and records in the area of responsibility to document transactions for audit purposes
  • Provide SAP support and guidance to sales services department for monthly customer reimbursement transactions
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Support the integration of revenue accounting in the new accounting solution upon transition

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Management Accountant role;

  • MUST HAVE SAP experience
  • MUST HAVE intermediate/advanced Excel (including V look ups, pivot tables). Macro experience is not essential but will be a great advantage
  • Will have worked in a large business in a similar role previously
  • will ideally be part qualified / finalist level CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Will have experience in profit forecasting or budget controls
  • Have the ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Have advanced knowledge and experience of MS Office automated financial and accounting reporting systems
