About Our Client

My client a well established part of the NHS provide services for adults and children in the local community.

They have a finance function of 4 and they are now seeking an assistant to the finance manager. Tjis will incluse managing two finance assistants.

Job Description

The role will involve:

Establishment and Budget reconciliations, maintenance and updates.

* Provision of financial support, advice and information to budget holders and


* Responsibility for maintenance of accurate financial accounting systems

* Responsibility for maintenance of the accounting and accounting reporting systems

* Provision of accurate and timely financial reports to the Finance Manager, Finance

Director, Executive Board and budget managers.

* Preparation and support of financial returns including PAYE / NI and VAT.

* Supporting annual audit.

* Budget development and forecast management.

* Supporting the payroll reporting and processing function.

* Makes judgements on financial decisions and financial risk

* Proposes changes to and implements accounting policies and financial policies and

procedures which impact on other areas

The Successful Applicant

  • NHS legislation knowledge/ experience
  • Knowledge of financial management
  • Knowledge of NHS agenda change in terms of payroll entitlement
  • Experience producing management accounts and year end accounts
