Job Description

  • Undertake stock control, monitor and report stock levels for all classifications of inventory and ensure satisfactory reconciliations are undertaken and queries resolved. Perform test counts on each inventory classification at least once per year.
  • Ensure that all stock counts are undertaken in accordance with Group and local policy. Prepare monthly file evidencing stock counts, reconciliations and values. Ensure all stock write-offs are approved in accordance with Chart of Authority.
  • Reconcile goods movements over the weighbridge including recovered fibre, chemicals and sludge & rejects
  • Reconcile sales and stock on a monthly basis, to confirm production. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile consignment stock and usage, investigate and resolve any difference.
  • Monitor Other Plant Costs spend and investigate variances
  • Prepare monthly transport self-bill. Maintain rates in system to ensure accuracy.
  • Calculate monthly energy accrual, cross check invoice and obtain authorisation to ensure posted and paid in time to comply with Energy Supply Agreement
  • Complete annual and monthly statistical returns as required
  • Collate and input non fin data including volumes, headcount, safety and absence
  • Prepare and input journals to the SAP general ledger, maintaining the audit trail for each transaction.
  • Process non-stock invoices for items such as sundry income and group recharges.
  • Liaise with inter-company customers and suppliers to ensure that the inter-company balances reconcile each month-end.
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly balance sheet control accounts file with supporting documentation for review by the Financial Controller.
  • Budget and Forecasts: contribute to the annual budget, and monthly forecasting processes, providing information and managing input from other departments as required.
  • Prepare reports and key performance indicators as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • AAT Qualified
  • Good excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Experience in manufacturing preferable
  • Rounded experience (i.e. not limited to purchase ledger)
