The client is one of the worlds largest general trading companies based in the City of London.

Job Description

Job Description:

  • To ensure the Accounting Ledgers for Commodities Trading Company are correct and properly reflect the business transactions
  • To ensure all data, Payment vouchers, Transfer vouchers, Receipt vouchers, Foreign Exchange contracts etc, is processed accurately and on a timely basis
  • To ensure all payments are properly authorised according to company's rules and procedures and are processed by their due date
  • To produce for Senior Management and Business Department Managers accurate:-
  • Monthly management accounts
  • Annual accounts
  • To understand the nature of transactions within the Business Departments and to be aware of the accounting implications of the transaction
  • To carry out daily & monthly control tasks including:
  • Reconciliation of margin accounts
  • Reconciliation & journals for realised & unrealised profit from Kiodex trading system
  • Reconciliation & analysis of profit (GTP & Net Income)
  • Monthly & quarterly Consolidation Package reporting to Parent Company
  • To liaise with the Business Departments and front & back office staff as required for analysis & reconciliation
  • Timely reporting of exceptional items
  • To provide information to the company's auditor, when requested
  • To ensure the Company information remains confidential at all times
  • To ensure the company's policy on health & safety is strictly adhered to at all times

The Successful Applicant


Good Standard of Education (University Degree or equivalent)


Good PC skills - Excel (Intermediate): Using large volumes of data in tabular format (including pivot tables; IF, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, etc)

Sound level of basic bookkeeping skills

SAP experience advantageous

Excellent organisational & analytical skills

Good communication skills (written and verbal)

Personal Qualities

Enthusiastic & keen to learn

Numerate with excellent attention to detail

Proactive & confident self-starter

Good team player
