Job Description

The jobholder will have responsibility for a variety of tasks that will require applying suitable actuarial calculations to deliver financial information supporting senior Managers in making business decisions. Reporting to the General Insurance Capital Actuary, the role includes:-

* Perform calculations for the Year End Solvency Capital Requirement and any other ad hoc investigations

* Provide input for the completion of the PRA data requests

* Ensure compliance with Solvency II regulations and PRA requirements

* Communicate results to key stakeholders

* Recommending improvements to current practices based on an understanding of market best practice

* Supporting Head of Financial Risk in influencing internal stakeholders and embedding the use of the capital model within the business

* Coaching junior staff, ensuring that training is provided to develop their knowledge & skills

* Managing projects, including developing the model and using it around the business

* The opportunity to work with a PRA approved Internal Model

The Successful Applicant

* Mathematics degree a minimum 2:1 or equivalent in a subject with a strong numerical content

* Near or newly qualified actuary or equivalent post-graduate qualification

* Strong technical analytical and actuarial skills

* Able to communicate clearly and influence senior management

* Previous GI Capital and Solvency II experience

* Experience in working with Igloo

What's on Offer

Salary: £37,000 - £56,000 per annum

Bonus: up to 17.5%
