Our client is a well-known and growing business in the Guildford area looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their Accountancy team.

Job Description

Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their Accountancy team in Guildford.

  1. Ensure that each financial transaction is correctly identified and that a full audit trail is maintained.
  2. Liaise with all Managers and respond promptly to requests for information.
  3. Financial administration which includes entering financial details into Sage 200, updating spreadsheets and reconciling the two elements.
  4. Credit Control Management, ensuring that all monies are received when due. Weekly aged debtors report produced for the Finance Manager.
  5. Sales Ledger - inputting invoices and other transactions into the Sage 200 accounts system with speed and accuracy.
  6. To complete project monitoring sheets using information from the finance system on a monthly basis reconciling financial data to Sage 200.
  7. Assist in the production of financial statements and applications, preparation of Excel spread sheets, reports and correspondence as required.
  8. Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company's monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
  9. Dealing with general accounts enquiries.
  10. Proactively contributing to the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes.
  11. Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
  12. To ensure all financial information is accurate and up to date for the annual audit and to proactively participate in the audit process.
  13. Maintain complete confidentiality in all respects with regard to information to which access may be gained.
  14. Dealing and resolving general accounts enquiries.
  15. Adhering to all Policies & Procedures; and in particular promoting good practice regarding (a) confidentiality; (b) Health & Safety of self, colleagues and service users; and (c) equality of opportunity.
  16. Other duties as may be specified from time to time.
  17. Some weekend and out of hours work may be necessary.
