About Our Client

Based in a picturesque location on the outskirts of Cheltenham, my client is commutable from Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Stroud, Stonehouse and Bristol.

Job Description

  • Taking control of Accounting information and assisting the location Accountant in producing complete, accurate and timely management accounts. Correct errors and omissions, and reconcile all key balance sheet control accounts for the contract.
  • Assist the Location Accountant in ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures specific to the contract to operate within the company framework. Report any breaches of company policies and procedures and any suspected malpractices to the Financial Accountant immediately.
  • Purchasing and accounts payable - Making sure that purchase orders are raised for all supplies of goods and services (including food and liquor), properly authorised and listed on the in house Commitment Register.
  • Liaise with Head Office, Purchase ledger and Purchasing Department to promptly resolve supplier queries.
  • Ensure at all times the money held on site is in accordance with the sites safe limits and any deviance to those levels is flagged straight up the line should we have to breach those levels due to a failed collection.
  • Overseeing the safe banking practices and ensuring all the commercial office staff operate to those practices as laid out in the core signatures held in the Levy Source.
  • Journal Transactions and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • To assist the location accountant with identifying posting errors at month end and maintaining the updated accruals log so that accurate accruals can be processed at the end of each period.

The Successful Applicant

  • Good administrative skills and time management
  • Experience of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Extensive cash handling experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Basic to intermediate level experience of Microsoft Desktop Applications
