Our client a market leading business based in Woking, Surrey are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant role to join the team due to growth

Job Description

As an Accounts Assistant - Rebates based from the Woking office you will be responsible for:

The Rebates Controller will on a day to day basis be involved in all aspects of the rebate process for one of the business units. This will include processing direct contract support invoices, merchant support claims, quarterly/annual rebates, setting up new support, renewing support, assisting the sales team with analysis, assistance with rebate accruals and preparation of weekly data, maintaining and improving recording in the accounts system JD Edwards, system improvements and ad hoc assistance.

Finance Policy and Controls

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, as well as compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls.
  • Assist with internal and external audits including the preparation of audit schedules and auditor requests.

Financial Operations

  • Ensure efficient and effective processing of contract support and rebate claims.
  • Drive improvements with the recording of contract support and recording of rebates within the accounts system.

Business Optimization / Insights

  • Drive improvements to recording of data and reporting to sales team, as well as improving the accounts system automatic procedures
  • Review of existing processes, structures, and systems with a focus on simplifying and standardisation.
  • Maintain a strong focus on execution and delivery of short term results whilst moving towards the long term vision.

Business Excellence

  • Work closely with the external sales team and the shared services team to ensure timely support.
  • Implement and drive consistency, efficiency, integration and communication of accounting policies, procedures, and processes.

The Successful Applicant

  • This role could be ideal for a graduate with some accounting experience but at the same time could be suitable for an experienced accounts person with similar experience/skill set
  • Some experience in finance/accounts payable/rebates experience is desirable but doesn't need to be a lot
  • Strong financial, IT and analytical skills coupled with operational focus.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Experience of working in a team.
  • Some exposure to accounting systems preferred.
  • "Roll up your sleeves" and can-do attitude, energetic, forward-thinker with strong ability to multi-task.
