About Our Client

My client is a leading hospitality group that operates a chain of bars throughout the city. They are a long established company that operates both nationally and internationally. My client looks to offer value and quality for the money to their customers, as well as offer a great service to their suppliers. Due to the busy nature of the finance team at the moment, they're looking to add a temporary Accounts Assistant to help maintain the Accounts Payable ledger and assist the finance team during a busy period.

Job Description

Accounts Assistant, East London

  • Ensure all invoices/credit notes are recorded on a timely basis.
  • Obtain authorisation where necessary for invoices before processing.
  • Prepare payments runs BACS/Cheque or EFT within agreed supplier terms. Ensure that all payments are authorised as per the appropriate bank mandate(s)
  • Setting up of new suppliers accounts on system.
  • Ensuring all purchase ledger documents are filed correctly and in an easily retrievable order.
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any account queries.
  • Ensure that Direct Debit payments are recorded on a timely basis.
  • Ensure timely submission of BACS sterling payment within agreed supplier terms.
  • Preparing remittance advices and posting to suppliers.
  • Reconciliation of Supplier statements
  • Reconciliation and posting of bar sales cash and credit card expense claims
  • Provide cover where necessary for other members of the team
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

The Successful Applicant

  • The successful candidate will be immediately available or on a 1 week notice period
  • Good communication skills
  • Spreadsheet & keyboard skills - must have good working knowledge of Excel and other accounting software
  • Must be able to manage own workload
  • Must be numerate and accurate

What's on Offer

The successful candidate will be paid between £12-£14 per hour, depending on experience. This is a temporary contract for 3 months, with the potential for it to be extended.
