About Our Client

We are looking for an accounts assistant/accountant with at least 1 years experience in commodities to join a leading privately owned petroleum company based in Victoria.

You will be working in a team of 3 reporting into the accounting manager.

The company work on Oracle but it is not essential that you have used this system.

Job Description

It is essential that you are part qualified and have at least one years experience within commodities, and are experienced with the duties and responsibilities below:

  • Account allocation of FX deals on a daily basis
  • Allocation of bank account and preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with month end reporting
  • Posting sales and purchases journals onto the system
  • check and post all journals prepared by the treasury department
  • Assist in preparation of monthly reporting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • P&L
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • VAT submission
  • Quarterly end reports - variance analysis, VAT, inter company reconciliations
  • Assist with back office

The Successful Applicant

You must have at least one years experience within commodities.

You must also be:

  • immediately available
  • Degree educated in a relevant field
  • Part qualified ACCA or CIMA
  • Have excellent excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Great team player
