About Our Client

My client is a rapidly growing SME company in the manufacturing industry. They have recently recruited this finance role and require someone with experience in management accounting and analysis to help take their business to the next level.

Job Description

The rolw will involve:

  • Ledger entries for all companies in the Group
  • Preparation of and posting of journals including stock valuation in accordance with UK GAAP and Company policies
  • Preparation and review of trial balance
  • Consolidate head office and branch accounts
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce timely and reliable financial management information pack on a monthly basis and other financial information as and when required, continually seeking to improve the information provided
  • Assist with production of statutory accounts and financial audit
  • Report to the Financial Controller on a regular basis, immediately informing of any critical issues
  • Work with finance support staff to ensure intra-branch balances are regularly reconciled and differences fully investigated and resolved
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, investigate variances against budgets and provide analysis of differences
  • Monitor short term cash flow forecast and provide longer term forecast
  • Responsible for calculation of absorption costing rate and updates in Efacs
  • Apply cost changes where required
  • Preparation of required reports for HMRC including, but not limited to, quarterly VAT Returns, P11ds, EC sales list and Intrastat for review by the Financial Controller
  • Review Aged Creditors on a monthly basis and take action where necessary
  • Help to mentor the Finance Staff
  • Assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects as required
  • Provide cover as necessary for the Finance Assistant
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with ABHI, Eucomed and Company policies with particular regard to Healthcare Compliance and Bribery Act regulations

The Successful Applicant

I am seeking candidates that:

  • Have experience with completing monthly management accounts,
  • Stat accounting knowledge
  • Are part qualified or close to qualifying in either ACCA or CIMA
  • Have the ability to develop reporting process
  • Have the ability to manage/ mentor in the future
  • Want to progress into a FC role in the next few years
