Diversity
There are compelling reasons why everyone at Page Personnel is encouraged to embrace diversity; business reasons, legal reasons and, most importantly, moral ones.
We believe it is essential for the future of every enterprise that diversity is adopted as a universal principle, enabling individuality to flourish regardless of gender, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins, marital status, family circumstances, age, disability, sexual orientation, political or religious belief.
In our business we vigorously promote a culture of diversity. Our clients expect if we are to propose candidates for their workforce that we have a healthy range of attitudes and characteristics that reflect fairly the society we live in.
There is also UK employment legislation in place that ensures we apply diversity in all companies, regardless of size or sector. This is designed to eliminate discrimination in the workplace and give everyone the opportunity to enjoy rewarding and fulfilling working lives..
At Page Personnel that's a given. Not because it's good for business, not because it's the law, but because it's the decent and right thing to do.
Demonstrating a commitment to diversity
So, what do we do at Page Personnel to promote diversity?
- Firstly, we have our own internal diversity policy which is communicated to all employees. It is co-ordinated by the UK Diversity Board, comprising a group of senior directors, which ensures on-going awareness training for management and staff.
- Making judgements based on a candidate's individual merits is at the heart of our diversity policy. That is why we have introduced more competency-based procedures into our selection processes. These ensure any decisions are objective and based purely on personal merit.
- To give us greater insight into diversity issues and how we can implement and maintain a meaningful strategy for ourselves and our customers, we have joined forces as corporate members with the following organisations:
Race for Opportunity - is committed to improving employment opportunities for ethnic minorities across the UK.
Opportunity Now - is a membership organisation for employers who are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for women.
Employers Forum on Disability - is the world’s leading employers’ organisation focused on disability as it affects business.
Employers Forum on Age & Belief - is an independent network of leading employers who recognise the need to attract and retain valuable employees – whatever their age. - We strive to ensure that we offer our clients the most qualified candidates on the basis of their relevant aptitudes, skills and abilities and that those candidates are drawn from diverse backgrounds. We have a variety of methods to monitor and analyse numbers from specific target groups to ensure diversity is being actively encouraged.
- We advertise in a wide range of media, both online and offline.
